All cucurbit fields, especially cucumber and other summer squash fields should be destroyed immediately after the last harvest to help limit potential inoculum sources for cucurbit downy mildew. As of today, CDM has only been reported in cucumber in the region but that will probably change in the coming weeks, so growers should be proactive and either mow down, disc under, or use herbicide to destroy all foliage.
